(Nasdaq: SNPS), a world leader in software and IP for semiconductor design, verification and manufacturing, and Virage Logic Corporation (Nasdaq: VIRL), a leading independent provider of semiconductor intellectual property (IP) for the design of complex integrated circuits, today announced they have signed a definitive agreement for Synopsys to acquire Virage Logic.Synopsys bought Virage Logic today for $289 million, extending its IP portfolio well beyond just standard I/O and PHY into memory, logic and processor cores.
